Best Station -

Dachser USA, Inc. -     Linda Mayes and Barbara Semons  with the German Oktoberfest in April theme!

The Trophy for the Best Beverage Station states:

"There's a whole lot of shakin' on!"

....and you can bet that at the Dachser  booth, there was just that!  Taking care of business is nothing new for Barbara and today she proved that even when the beer reserves were low, she kept her cool and served up some fun!

Our shakin' hula doll was flown in from Hawaii just to top this trophy! This award is an 'evergreen' award. It has no date shown and at the next Mack Johnson Memorial Golf Tournament, Dachser will be there to pass on the torch (or hula) to the next Best Station of 2008!

Best Poker Hand -

Randy Durham - with a Flush (A,10,Q,Q,K all Hearts)!

A big thank you to Reinder Schilsky our Golf Director for all of his efforts, creative thinking, and attention to detail.

All going well, with Reinder's leadership, I.T.M.A. will be holding a second Golf Tournament this year in October.  Idea's are still in the works, but we are considering inviting local celebrities and local pro's to play with our golfers.  To volunteer in the planning stage or in any part of this event, contact Reinder Schilsky.

Please let us know early if you wish to be a sponsor of the I.T.M.A. Golf Classic Tournament 2007.

How to Calculate

Speed
Time
Distance
Average Speed

Speed =

Distance/Time

Time =

Distance/Speed

Distance =

Speed X Time

How to Calculate
Distance

Sample Problem:

Calculate distance you
will travel in 20 min.
at an average speed
of 35mph.

Solution:

Calculate MPM
(miles per minute)

35mph/60min.=
.58 miles per min.

.58 mpm X 20 min. =
11.67 miles

How to Calculate
Average Speed

Sample Problem:

The first leg of the
Road Rally requires
you to drive from
the starting point
to the intersection
of Westheimer Rd.
and Voss Rd, a
distance of 11.67 mi.

You are expected to complete the first leg
in 20 minutes.

Calculate the average
speed required over
the distance of the
first leg in order to
arrive at the prescribed
intersection in precisely
20 minutes.

Solution:

Distance = 11.67 mi.

Time = 20 min.

11.67 mi./20 min.
= .584 mpm
(mpm = mi. per min.)

.584 mpm X 60 min.
= 35.01 mph
